RBE Open Minds: Conducts Poetry competition for Teacher's Day : 5th Sept

RBE’s Teacher’s Day celebrations and poetry competition price distribution at Domlur Gov High School 



As a chief guest today we were honored to have Dr Subramanyam Sharma ( grandson of our Sri Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan). 

This event started on 
Friday,Sept 2nd with announcements in classrooms and setting guidelines, topic and structure for the competition 

Saturday,Sep 3rd all students participated in writing poetry on topic “Teacher”.. In one of 3 languages Kannada, Hindi or English .

With all teachers and principal support over 150 enthusiastic students wrote their thoughts and lines competitively..







On Sunday some of the notable and eligible ones were chosen from all submissions for prices.









Monday,5th Sept, on the occasion of Teacher’s day, certificates and prices were awarded for poetry competition winners, by the chief guest Dr Subramanyam Sharma.

The event was attended by all teachers and students with great excitement.
Despite the last min snag to shift the hall to the PU hall, as the previous nights battering rains had left the auditorium water clogged, but did not deter us. We started at 9am.

Post opening speech by Ms Rathna , School Principal, guest intro by Rtn Krishnan, youth services director, RBE.
Dr Subramayam Sharma (grandson of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and Sri V V Giri), addressed the gathering and gave the certificates and prices for the Winners the first price winners also recited their poems. 
and concluded with a thank you note by secretary Rtn Rajesh Kumar







 
Short Brief on Chief Guest
Dr. Subramanyam Sharma is a good friend of our Rtn Krishnan, youth service Director. 

Dr. Subramanyam Sharma, is the Founder Chairman and Managing director for Sudeeksha group of companies,  a multi billion dollar business spanning various segments like Pharma, Technology, Legal, Media etc..in many countries, employing nearly 20000.

A doctorate from Harvard in Law and Economics and MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, 
Dr Subramanyam is also Part of the economic advising committee for PM
Member of BJP
Also a past Rotarian 

This was truly a moment of honor and pride to have Dr Subramanyam make time in his busy schedule and address a small gathering of Gov school students.
On behalf of RBE I thank him.

This event was a great success and has rekindled in some students and teachers a passion for writing and have shown interest in have more such even to bring out creativity, talent and expression.

Event was an initiative planned and conducted by Rtn Krishnan as part of the RBE Open Minds initiative and with support of Principal Rathna madam and teachers along with great support and encouragement from President Shivkumar, Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Rtn. PP V Krishnamurthy and Rtn PP Stephen Paul
