As pet of Open Minds initiative, today we conducted the Academic Excellence workshop through DishaBharath’s AHEAD team .  We have nearly 140students from 1st and 2nd PUC and teachers who took active participation.  Workshop was exceptionally conducted by Sri Pradeep and Sri Sandesh…many thanks to them Students were all very motivated and excited about the workshop and what they learnt today. Covering self confidence, goal setting , career path, integrity, self pride and some skills and methods to enhance your focus through yoga and activities. Both teachers and students expressed their appreciation to the whole 3 hrs of workshop. RBE’s Teacher’s Day celebrations and poetry competition price distribution at Domlur Gov High School  As a chief guest today we were honored to have Dr Subramanyam Sharma ( grandson of our Sri Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan).  This event started on  Friday,Sept 2nd with announcements in classrooms and setting guidelines, topic and structure for the competition  Saturday,Sep 3rd all students participated in writing poetry on topic “Teacher”.. In one of 3 languages Kannada, Hindi or English . With all teachers and principal support over 150 enthusiastic students wrote their thoughts and lines competitively.. On Sunday some of the notable and eligible ones were chosen from all submissions for prices. Monday,5th Sept, on the occasion of Teacher’s day, certificates and prices were awarded for poetry competition winners, by the chief guest Dr Subramanyam Sharma.   Rotary Bangalore East conducted The Academic Excellence workshop as part of our “Open Minds” initiative , it was a great success.  The children and teachers felt it was very impactful and very useful. This is one of a kind even for the school in enabling students learning about career paths , time management, learning methods etc for 3hr the kids were engaged in different group activities. Students had lot of questions for ma’am Parimala ji even after the session gathering around her. I want to thank immensely Parimala ji Director of Ahead , Sri Sandesh and Ms Tejasvini for conducting the workshop exceptionally and engaging the students till the end.  Rotary Bangalore East  had the Eco Ganesha workshop   in Domlur Government School ground.  The workshop was conducted by Ann Bhuvana Krishnan(w/o YSD Rtn Krishnan) with help from Ms Amrutha and Ms Keerthana.  Arranged and organised by Rtn Krishnan with the help and support of President Shivkumar and sponsor from DLRWA .  In presents of Mr Narayanan , Ms Geetha and Mrs Anitha . Nearly 180 students from both school, PU and degree college took active and enthusiastic participation. Lots of expressive creativity and joy prevailed throughout the workshop. Apart from students many others participated as well I want to thank DLRWA for pitching in and Mrs Bhuvana for conducting this event.   As part of  RBEs OpenMinds: leaders inspire series ,   On16th Oct , despite some initial delays and possible reschedule, we had the session Topic : Police Services Speaker: Rtn Bhaskar Rao IPS retd ADGoP Between:12:30-1:30pm at Domlur PU college and school Organized by Rtn Krishnan with Secretary Rtn Rajesh and support from President Rtn Shivakumar and Rtn V Krishnamurthy  In the presence of both principals,  teachers and with over 200 enthusiastic, excited and curious students. This session was a great success.. students and teachers alike had a lot of interesting questions on various recruitment processes, height, weight, exams , polices dept , CID, UPSC, etc etc … At one point I wanted to hold off as it was getting late for lunch for the students but a teacher said that’s ok we can delay lunch but such opportunities don’t come often.
