From the Presidents Desk : "After being collared, President
Rtn. Stephen Paul, called the meeting to order and then asked the members to observe 1 minutes
silence in honor of all the Rotarian’s, Anns & Annets, who had departed from this world.
The outgoing President Rtn. Col.
Narasimha, was invited on stage, after which the Guest of Honor Dr. Abraham Ebenezer and then the
Installing Officer, Zone Governor Rtn. Anil Kumar were invited
on to the Dais. As the outgoing
Secretary was also the incoming Secretary, he was already on stage.
The invocation song was rendered
by Annt. Deepa Krishnamurthy, her melodious voice enthralled the audience. President then
invited the IPP to inform the audience regarding the year gone by.
IPP Rtn. Col. Narasimha, then
gave an insight into how he was thrust into the job, but took it as a challenge and was able to do it
successfully. He detailed the various projects undertaken during his
tenure. Then Rtn. Dr. Raghuraman,
introduced the President to the audience. The President then introduced to the audience, the
Installing Officer, Zone Governor Rtn. Anil Kumar. After which the Installing Officer Installed the
new Team for the Rotary Year 2019-20.

Col. Narasimha, Vice-President- Rtn. Benny Augustine, Secretary- Rtn. Thejas
Kumar, Treasurer- Rtn. V. Krishnamurthy.

Rtn. Dr. Raghuraman, Rtn. A. Chourappa, Rtn. Dr. Sheela Reddy, Rtn. Nanda Kumar & Rtn.
Kodandapani. The Special Advisors are Rtn. N J Menon, Rtn. S P
Krishnamurthy, Rtn. Nova
Bethania, Rtn. Sudhakaran, Rtn. S. Krishnamurthy & Rtn. M J Mathews. Chief Mentor is PDG Rtn. S R
Yogananda. Chairmen of various committees are Rtn. SudhirDeshmukh, Rtn. Dr. Dilip Kumar,
Rtn. Jagannivasan & Rtn. Viswanath Harihar. On being installed a group photograph was taken.
A cheque for INR 54,450 was handed
over to an engineering college student towards her collegesemester fees. A cheque of Rs
50,000/- donated by Rtn. Jagannivasan was handed over to the
services Director. Then the
Installing Officer & Zone Governor Rtn. Anil Kumar, wished the new team all the very best. He then
detailed the major activities of the district such as “Sameepa” a combined effort of all the ICGF’s during
the year. He requested that clubs register at least 10 members from each club. He also highlighted
about the district conference and requested our club for maximum participation. He highlighted the
RI theme “Rotary connects the World”.
The President then thanked the
members for reposing their trust in him and asked the members for their support. He then
highlighted the proposed projects for the year and requested each member
to undertake one project of their
choice and convenience, during the year. He thanked Essae Foundation for
supporting the Club’s flagship project on clubfoot and handed over a cheque for 2.27 Lakhs given as
the 1 st instalment out of the totally promised 10 Lakhs from the Essae Foundation, he also thanked PP
Rtn. S A Chandran the chairman of the Essae Foundation for their magnanimity. He informed that on
the 1 st day of the Rotary calendar 3 projects were undertaken 1) Scholarships were handed over to
2 deserving girl students in 6 Std & 10 Std 2) The management and maintenance of a RO pure
water plant, in Domlur Layout was taken up, 3) A specially remodeled 2 wheeler for a
physically challenged person was donated. All these 3 projects were donated by Rtn. Nanda Kumar. He
closed by requesting the members to put their heart and soul into the club’s theme “To reach out
and touch lives”.
The Guest of Honour was
introduced by PP Rtn. Sudhakaran in his inimitable style. Then the Guest of Honour Dr. Abraham Ebenezer was
inducted into the club as a member and he then addressed the
gathering, thanking RBE for
inducting him into the club. He spoke about the heritage of RBE a club of 48 years and about Rotary a 100
plus year organization. He said he had researched about both
Rotary and RBE and in spite of
friends of several Rotary clubs inviting him, he finally decided to join RBE. He stressed on the need to
help eradicate illiteracy and ended by saying he would uphold the spirit of Rotary and work towards
its goals.
The Vote of Thanks was given by
Rtn. Viswanath Harihar in his usual witty style, after which the meeting was adjourned and the
gathering invited for fellowship dinner."
